Processing

This used cropping, then levels & curves to improve the tonal range, and colour balance and hue & saturation to improve the colour balance. Then the web versions were sharpened using "unsharp mask".

Main Photoshop 6 and ImageReady 3 features used

• Image size - crop.

  Image adjustment, mostly using adjustment layers - levels, curves, colour balance, hue/saturation, plus clone tool.

  Presentation features for the web - "automate - fit image", then "unsharp mask" managed in layers created for the purpose. Separate "unsharp mask" was applied to the bird.

Typical Photoshop 6 features not used

• Filters, except "unsharp mask". Over 90% of the other tools.
