For interest, here is a 500 by 500 pixel extract of the "pre-web" image (converted to JPG here) to compare with the web versions:

This needed little except some cropping, levels & curves to improve the tonal range, and hue/saturation to make the red chest more life-like. (Although they can be much redder than this - the red chest is how the male says to the female "mine is bigger and redder than his!") Then the web version was sharpened using "unsharp mask".
Image size - crop, image & canvas size.
Image adjustment - levels, curves, hue/saturation, clone tool.
Presentation features - stroke (for print border), automate - fit image, save as JPEG.
In mid-January 2002, for the web version only - "unsharp mask" managed in layers created for the purpose.
Layers. Filters. Over 90% of the tools.
But in mid-January 2002, I started to use "unsharp mask" in layers to sharpen the web image.
