The substantive content of this page was frozen by 27 September 2011.
This page is mainly a reformatted extract from the set of cameras (including digital backs) at "products that support DNG". It doesn't identify any extra products, although it adds approximate launch dates where known. The purpose of this page is to make it easier to keep a count of the number of camera models that write DNG. I intend to maintain it in parallel with the main page.
- Many of these cameras are no longer manufactured.
- I have been collecting the information on this page since February 2005, and publishing it since August 2005. Some of the information may currently be out of date, and some of the links are currently broken. I will probably update such information sooner or later.
- I don't guarantee that this is the accurate set of such cameras. There may be extra cameras that I have never become aware of. There may be cameras here that were launched but never delivered, or that didn't in fact write DNG. I will correct such errors if I become aware of them.
- These only include cameras that can write DNG at delivery from the manufacturer. They doesn't include the many cameras that write DNG as a result of firmware hacking, (typically Canon), nor mobile phones that write DNG via non-manufacturer applications, (typically Nokia & Google Android).
- Launch dates are subject to the marketing games played by manufacturers! Some are probably pre-announcements, some genuine launches, and some are my best estimates after I became aware of the camera.
